Books about LSD and psilocybin
In the 60s, very extensive studies were made of the therapeutic potential of psychedelic substances such as LSD and psilocybin. The results were very encouraging, both when it came to milder psychological problems and serious disorders. Also interesting was the potential the drugs showed to help people get rid of addictions – both to alcohol and other drugs – as well as to ease or remove fear of death in the face of serious diagnoses such as cancer. Studies were also carried out in areas such as creativity and spiritual development, and much interesting was written both in research publications and in the popular press.

At the end of the 60s, the world - and especially the USA - was the scene of a culture war, where, among other things, the Peace and love movement stood against the authorities, the church and other authorities. From their perspective, people who were no longer interested in participating in the wars or conforming to the usual norms of life or sexuality were a threat to the foundations on which their power rested. Prohibition and condemnation were the result. Fortunately, the literature in the field survived, and in recent years new, interesting publications have appeared.
